A GREENER DURHAM FROM THE ROOTS UP

My grandad grew up on an oil rig camp during the 1940s but eventually climbed his way out of poverty by working in the big oil and fracked gas business. I began working as an environmental justice organizer at the age of 15 as a way to pay homage to my grandad’s childhood and as a form of reparations for the damage he did as an adult. Right now there is not an environmental activist on the board. I'm running for Durham Soil and Water Conservation District, so there will be a local elected official who speak out against corporate pollution and environmental injustice. From activist to public servant, vote Jillian Riley on November 3rd, 2020.

PROTECT CLEAN WATER

PROTECT CLEAN WATER

I've seen first hand how climate change impacts the most vulnerable in our community. I've worked all across the state of North Carolina to fight for clean water, clean air, renewable energy, and to hold corporate polluters accountable for their actions. As Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor, I will continue to advocate for environmental justice for all Durham residents.
